Shirley Kevil of Sun Prairie Reviews:Thunder Bay
by William Kent Krueger
Private investigator Cork O’Connor takes a dangerous mission in the wilds of Thunder Bay, Canada. Henry Meloux was taken to the hospital due to a heart attack and he asked Corcoran O’Connor to find his son and also look after his dog, Walleye. He had three pieces of information to find him, the mothers name, Maria Lima, an approximate year and a place to start looking. What Meloux was asking was nothing short of a miracle.
Cork O’Connor owned a restaurant so he asked his two daughters to take care of it while he was away looking for Henry’s son.
A man and his dog were attacked and a police case opened due to the search for Henry’s son. This story continues with a love story and a killing, cruelty and suffering in the quest for gold.
William K. Krueger began writing mysteries about 20 years ago, featuring Corcoran O’Connor, investigator in seven crime fiction mysteries. He dubbed him Cork because no matter how far down he gets pushed he’ll always bob back up for more.

October Wind
To and fro
tree lists and sways
besieged by autumn gale.
Harried crimson leaves hold fast;
tenacious
tell the tale…
