Friends of the Dane County Bookmobile


What are Friends For?


The Friends of the Dane County Bookmobile is a non-profit organization. Its purpose is to further the mission and goals of the Dane County Library Service by encouraging broad community support and participation in all aspects of the bookmobile program.

What Friends Do


  • Promote knowledge of the services and needs of the Dane County Bookmobile.
  • Heighten awareness of the Bookmobile program, especially in the communities it serves.
  • Encourage and receive gifts to the Bookmobile and the Library Service.

    The Dane County Bookmobile is a program of the Dane County Library Service.

    The Bookmobile Service was created in 1967 to serve areas of Dane County not served by a municipal library.

    Bookmobile stops are made throughout the County. The Bookmobile travels with a collection of almost 5,000 items available for borrowing — books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, and books on CD.
